Okay Golf was back on today after a two week hiatus. And it almost didn’t happen due to some tee time hickups. But late in the afternoon yesterday I got the call that a time had been secured in Dubai at the Emirates Golf Club. As some of you may know this is where the Dubai Desert Classic is held in February. Last years winner none other than the best in the world himself, TW. So up and spry at 4AM hit the road at 5, knocking practice balls at 7:15, off on time at 7:40. The weather was awesome, not too hot and a slight breeze. The only weather issue, hazy at times as you will see. Lets take a look at the course and Dubai backgrounds:
Are we there yet? Any building going on?
Close up of the club house. This place is a very upscale club and has all the trimmings.
Around the place near the putting area
Let’s go! Hole 1
oh yeah I was here, the starter took the shot
Background Dubai Some tall building
Hazy
Hazy but in this picture you can see the tallest building in the world (one in the middle)
Par 3, Jack’s first shot went in the water. So I took this shot to show him where he was lining up. He hit where he aimed. Pin is where the traps are in the back ground. ( I parred)

I thought this a cool picture of the CH coming in. Tents at the Oasis.
I wanted the CH in the middle but so what. 85 out, laying two, P5
At every turn there was this great photo op. This didn’t turn out great but you get the idea.
Took this at the 1st tee with driving range in background. Great facility!
There you go! Jack did a good job on the tee time. We had a foursome and got it in in 4 hours. Back around 1/2-2. Another good Friday. Next week I am scheduled to play with another group at the Abu Dhabi National. Another pro tour course so that will be fun to experience.
Cheers

The girls chime in. I know its tough with the pipe lines at less then capacity. Today I filled up for AED 86.00 or about $23 US dollars. What is different is there seems to be no conservation of fuel here. Big cars and drive hard. The US of A takes the brunt of the problems. Our Ford Expedition would go over well here but cannot give it away in the States because of it’s fuel mileage. Tracie says John was on a gas search today. Chin up! It will get better this week.
